I hope it doesn’t get boring to you to hear that Sasha Grey can be a riveting performer no matter who she’s working with, and she seems to have the ability to make less than stellar porn movies watchable just because she’s so fun to look at.

Ethan Kane’s “Pure” is not a less than stellar movie. It’s stylish and (small “v”) vivid and doesn’t make the mistake of forgetting the substance, even if it is awash in a lot of style. It is a vignette movie stocked with many other dark-eyed, saucy minxes who aren’t the type of blowsy waitresses with hearts of gold who give comfort to truckers, but instead the type of porn actresses who secretly mock those jerking off to them. But no matter. Technology does not allow us to monitor the thoughts of our porn actresses - yet.

This reviewer did not like director Kane’s feature “Carolina Jones” but the vignette style really suits both director and cast in “Pure,” which also features Veronique Vega and Jessica Valentina.
