The company that brought you “Japanese Whale Hunt” is scaling down to the noble clam. Third World Media’s “Hairless Asian Clams” is, like its mammalian counterpart, marine in title only. It also begs the zen question “Is a clam a clam when there’s hair on it?” I am not old enough to remember when it was the style for women to have pubic hair beyond a landing strip, but it is my impression that only when a vagina is shaved does it become a clam. Am I right?
A memory stirs of the term “bearded clam.” Is that a vagina or is that a vagina that is shaved a certain way? And who will teach me Japanese fast enough so that I can ask Haruna Sakurai myself?

Kara Tai is working on some XHTML on her iBook and needs to call in a tech for help. In Silver Sinema’s “Geek Girlsex” (which does a good job of mimicing the Geel Squad logo), girls with glasses make a very good effort at incorporating video games and computer jargon into their porn.

I am a fan of the company Third World Media, which casts mostly unknown first-timers from other countries in exceedingly niche-centric movies. For example, today we have “Hardcore Workout,” which appeals to fans of exercise equipment, native Japanese women, and pro wrestling.
Now I have no idea who Chocoball Mukai is and why Japan’s proud tradition of shame isn’t overshadowing his alleged wrestling career, nor have I ever heard of his scene partner, Rika Kitano, but their Olivia Newton John-era setup of a pretty massage therapist working out the “stiffness” in her client is classic, especially when he complains about the pain in his “groins.”
An appreciation of foreign-made porn that must conform to the standards of an American audience but which still retains the flavor of the originating country is a delicious part of a nutritious adult entertainment diet.

In his “No Man’s Land: Asian Edition 6,” director David Aaron Clark sends Lana Croft tottering through the marbled hallways of a Porn Valley rental as she deals with ghosts and demons.
“Yes, she has a lot to contend with,” said Clark from his home in L.A.’s Koreatown. “It shows us how a little memory can be a bad thing.”
It is pleasant, now and then, to get a porn DVD that requires a little thought. We wonder, for example, how the grief-stricken Croft, whose character lost the love of her life to a plane crash (not before having sex with her, though) and lost her sister’s love to her own disapproval of her sister’s sex partners (not before watching them have sex, though) could afford that huge goddamn house. We wonder if Croft dresses more sluttily the sadder she gets. If this is the formula, we are going to invite Croft to our house and tell her that Bambi died.
Clark has been writing about and making porn for a couple of decades, including stints at Screw magazine and San Francisco’s late Spectator. He has carved out a thoughtful, extra fetishy Asian niche that finds the otherworldly Ange Venus, for example, doing things that viewers wouldn’t normally see.
“She’s not a geisha in this movie,” Clark said of Venus’ performance in NML. “She’s an erotic demoness.”
Well good. If you’re going to make me think about it, you’d damn well better make it erotic.
