GameLink.com’s PORNSTAR MASTURBATION MARATHON

May is National Masturbation Month and GameLink is celebrating in a big way! We’re cosponsors of San Francisco’s Center For Sex and Culture’s world-famous Masturbate-a-thon event, and we’re so excited about the event that we’re kicking it off with our very own Pornstar Masturbation Marathon, a live webcast show featuring Nina Hartley masturbating for three hours straight.

The series was inspired by a local San Francisco event that started a decade ago: the Masturbate-a-thon. The outrageous live group event is a fundraiser for safe-sex education at which participants will raise funds by getting others to sponsor them for the length of time they masturbate.

Sex toy retailer Good Vibrations’ staff sexologist, Dr. Carol Queen created the Masturbate-a-thon to honor masturbation as an excellent way to have safe sex while also raising money for non-profits. The event is broadcast live online and proceeds benefit the non-profit Center for Sex and Culture (CSC) providing positive sex-education for adults. Some participants have even started competing for world records, including length of time masturbating, most orgasms, and furthest distance.

History

May was officially designated by Good Vibrations as National Masturbation Month in 1995 to protest the firing of U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Joycelyn Elders after she responded to questions about safer sex by saying that “Masturbation is something that perhaps should be taught.”

The truth is that masturbation is one of the safest forms of sex, and it is something that just about everyone does. GameLink.com has added something to the annual self-love fest this year….the online Pornstar Masturbation Marathon.

On Wednesday, May 21st 2008, from 5-8 PM Pacific, Nina will have a three hour live performance where she’ll attempt to continuously masturbate. A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to San Francisco’s Center for Sex and Culture to continue their work promoting masturbation as safe sex.
